Hi there!

“While other professions are concerned with changing the environment to suit the weakened body, Chiropractic is concerned with strengthening the body to suit the environment.”  –B.J. Palmer, Developer of the Chiropractic Profession

What on earth does this mean…?

Well, the premise of Chiropractic has always been centered around the inside-out principle of keeping the body internally well and able to adapt to the external environment, rather than depending on external things to “make” you healthy or succumbing to bad habits you see in your environment that aren’t healthy for you.

In other words, your health and wellness is an inside job, which includes your personal practices that strengthen your body as well as your mind and spirit.

So, in that spirit…Let’s adapt to our new environment!

Here is my personal, unofficial CORONAVIRUS LEXICON 📗 (now available on Amazon.com…just kidding).

Please note the meanings of these words may bring about different reactions in each reader. So we offer our best explanation from our health viewpoint…and what you can do proactively to affect healthy changes in your life:

😷 Maskcne: A case of acne resulting from wearing a mask that gets sweaty on your face.
“I forgot to wash my face mask this week and now I’m having a maskcne breakout!”

Health tip #1 – Wash your mask regularly. Never fear, soap and water are here!  Your skin releases toxins as you exhale and sweat, and is considered the largest organ in your body. During especially stressful and sweaty instances you may break out with maskne.

🤿 Quarantoned: To get physically fit by engaging in numerous Zoom and Facebook Live workout sessions, sometimes daily.
“Are you taking barre classes?  You are looking mighty quarantoned these days!”

Health tip #2 – Find a workout regimen that suits you. If you love the guidance of a personal trainer go with Gillham Fitness.  If you want to do jumping jacks and walk the dog around the block, then go for that!  Supplement your chiropractic adjustments with additional biomechanical movement (ask me if you’d like to know more about this). Your joints and spinal system will be grateful.

🧠Corona Brain:  To simply be adrift in thought and not know which day is which due to SIP and the possible monotony of WFH meetings.
“I asked my husband if today was Friday and he reminded me to change out of my pajamas for my weekly Monday zoom call with my boss, starting in 2 minutes…oops.”

Health tip #3 – It’s okay to be in a daze…

No matter how you define it, here’s to AMAZING ADAPTABILITY  🤸🏽‍♀️ as you enter the fall season of work, school, and activities!
